Terms of Service

Effective date: August 11, 2026 · Rules config v2026.08, effective 2026-08-01

The short version: Canadian PRLedger is a free, informational tool — not legal or immigration advice, and not affiliated with IRCC. Your data stays yours; your documents stay in your own Google Drive. Don't misuse the Service, and understand that CRS/CEC results here are estimates, not official determinations.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Canadian PRLedger ("PRLedger", "we", "us"), including our website and dashboard (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of the service

PRLedger helps temporary residents of Canada track Canadian Experience Class (CEC) work hours, estimate Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores, and manage a document readiness checklist. The Service is informational and organizational only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Government of Canada, and it does not submit anything to IRCC on your behalf.

PRLedger is currently a volunteer, unincorporated project run by an individual — not a registered company. We intend to keep the Service free for as long as it doesn't cost us anything meaningful to run. If that changes, we plan to introduce lightweight advertising (small, clearly-marked ad placements) rather than charge users or sell data — and we'll update these Terms and our Privacy Policy before any ads go live.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us at hello@canadianprledger.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
  • submit false eligibility or hours data with the intent to misrepresent your circumstances to a third party (including IRCC); or
  • use the Service to store or transmit malicious code.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates this section.

5. Your data & documents

You own the hours, CRS, and checklist data you enter into the Service. Documents you upload from the checklist page are sent directly from your browser to a Google Drive folder you control — we never receive or store the file itself, only a reference link. See our Privacy Policy for details on exactly what we store and how Drive access works.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure, including Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and data storage, and the Google Drive API for document storage you control. Your use of Google Drive through the Service is also subject to Google's own terms. We don't control these third parties and aren't responsible for their availability, changes, or practices.

7. No professional advice

Nothing on the Service constitutes legal, immigration, or professional advice. CRS scores, CEC hour thresholds, and eligibility estimates are calculated against published IRCC program rules (rules config v2026.08, effective 2026-08-01) and are provided for planning purposes only. If a result here disagrees with the official Express Entry system, the official system governs. For advice about your specific case, consult a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), a lawyer, or IRCC directly.

8. Intellectual property

The Service's software, design, and content (excluding data you input) belong to PRLedger. You retain ownership of the data you enter and the documents you store in your own Drive. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative products from the Service without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will match any official determination.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PRLedger will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on its estimates or interruptions caused by third-party services (such as Firebase or Google Drive outages). Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to CAD $0.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service, or request deletion of your account and data, at any time by emailing hello@canadianprledger.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 4. Termination doesn't affect files already stored in your own Google Drive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@canadianprledger.com.

Not legal advice, and not final. This document is a starting point drafted for a free, single-founder tool — it isn't a substitute for a lawyer. Section 12 (Governing law) still needs your actual jurisdiction, and the liability/warranty language should get a professional review before you treat this as launch-ready, especially once the product charges money or grows its user base.
